Meeting of Parents and Teaching Staff

We feel that a very close link between home and school is vital to your child’s progress. Parents are always welcome in school to discuss any problem with the Headteacher, either at the beginning or the end of the session if you require a longer consultation appointments can be made if required.

Records for each child are kept during his/her time at this school, they are updated throughout the year. An opportunity to view these records and discuss your child’s progress will be offered in the Spring Term. A written report is given in the final term of your child’s attendance.

Administering of Medicines to Children in School

Generally children on medication for short term illness will not be in school. However, there are exceptions; these are set out in Halton Borough Council’s Guidelines and parents must discuss with the Headteacher and fill out an appropriate consent form before the school can administer medicine to a child.

Inhalers

Some children use inhalers. Please inform staff if your child has asthma. Asthma register kept by Mrs Quinn, First Aider.

In the event of a child having an accident or becoming ill during the session, every effort will be made to contact you. If this is not possible the Headteacher will take responsibility until you can be reached. It is important that the school be given more that one telephone number at which parents can be contacted. Please inform us of a change of address and/or telephone number immediately. Accidents are reported to the Authority on the required form and the outcome noted in the school Accident Book. Mrs. Platt is the nominated First Aider. All staff are first aid trained. Bumps and other accidents will be discussed with parents on the day. Bumps to head will be notified in writing.
